We are proud to share that CND™ had the opportunity to collaborate with celebrity nail artists Tom Bachik and Julie Kandalec to create Selena Gomez’s and Camila Cabello’s nail looks for the Oscars!

Tom Bachik shares how he created Selena Gomez’s nails:

"We kept Selena’s natural nails at an elegant medium length and perfected her classic almond shape. Sel and I worked together to create a custom nail color for the night—a peachy pink, golden, iridescent shine that complements the stones and texture in her beautiful gown. To achieve this, we used a thin layer of CND™ SHELLAC™ in Rule Breaker, layered with Silk Thread from CND™’s Quiet Luxury collection. Sel loved how it turned out!"

Tom Bachik’s step-by-step:

  1. Begin with P.E.P.
  2. Shape and refine the nail using a 180 grit file & buffer, and clean with 99% IPA.
  3. Apply layer of Wear Extender base coat. Cure using button 1.
  4. One thin layer of CND™ SHELLAC™ Rule Breaker. Cure using button 2S.
  5. One thin layer of CND™ SHELLAC™ Silk Thread. Cure using button 2S.
  1. Seal with a layer of CND™ SHELLAC™ No-Wipe Top Coat and cure using button 3.
  2. Moisturize with CND™ SolarOil™ to condition nails and cuticles.

Julie Kandalec shares how she created Camila Cabello’s classic CND™ micro-French manicure:

"For Camila's red-carpet manicure, we wanted to create a classic, elevated look with a barely-there shade and a micro-French - just like a skinny vanilla latte with just a touch of foam. CND™ SHELLAC™ Bare Chemise was perfect for the base, along with Cream Puff for the foam tip."
